The sky’s like sherbet punch, frothy and pink, so we have dinner in the backyard, between zucchini blossoms and wild swamp roses. We’ll sit on the old blanket we block printed with the baby’s first toys, stamping stacking rings and an upturned xylophone, carefully rolled in paint, shades of blue.
We’ll have orange wine and iced teas in the good glasses and find a blade of grass in one, fish it out and take turns whistling at the cat, winding her long body through the azalea.
As the night rolls in and over us we point out our favorite stars, some bright and flaming, some farther away, darkly glimmering. We think of all the ways the world went in those lightyears, and all the things we did out there that brought us here, to our little homestead, the blankets and the sourdough starter, new seeds in the garden, quick pickles, slow Saturdays.

All stones are untreated natural stones and can vary in color. If you do not see a stone you would like, please let us know and we can try to accommodate :)
